I did misunderstand, but I still don't think the comparison is the same.

But how can you say someone has a right to open a business if a politician can block their business from opening? You don't truly have a right to open a business somewhere if a politician has the right to block you.
See my response to pmb about gay marriage voting.
Politicians can tell Chick Fil-A their message is not okay in many other ways besides blocking that business from opening.
