ok. so let's say you have a spare car, and you loan it to close friends and relatives when their cars are dead. let's say that you always ensure to

fill up the gas tank of said car before you loan it out.
is it unreasonable to expect that the car be returned with a full tank? or, more to the point, is it unreasonable for a person returning it to return it with the idiot light on?
note that there was no agreement in place regarding this because the hypothetical person with the hypothetical car assumed that the person returning it would fill the tank as a courtesy, as everyone else who has borrowed the car has ever done.
