I think the appropriate comparison is with the rhetoric put forth by the RNC and the McCain campaign. If you're going to lambast the opposition as elitist, bordering on un-American, while touting your candidates as "real people" from "real America," then make sure you're buying your clothes at the same places that "real America" shops -- Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, Sears, Old Navy, Carhartt, JC Penney, or your local department store chain. Or maybe the Gap, Banana Republic, and Eddie Bauer.

Or, on the other hand, if you're going to dress your candidate like an aristocrat, then don't point fingers at the opposition for doing the same thing.
