those kids were sheltered and dictated and controlled as they grew up - mostly for their own protection - some cause their dad was strange.

he dies and they get handed over to grandma who is elderly and she lets them do what they want within reason - so they basically run their own show and have some freedom ( lots more than ever before)

and now Aunt/Uncle want to ride in and change what they gained? I think not. Paris is saying no fucking way.
