Yeah, when you push the top button it activates the exterior handle for like 15 seconds and you can lock it.

I've had a couple and neither relied on the handle.

These get better battery life because they don't do the actual locking/unlocking, they just engage the handle. -- nm

Yeah, I read one of the reviews and they explain it is manually locked/unlocked which is really better than using the battery power to move the bolt. -- nm

not all have a timer but all can be locked outside by pressing a button -- nm
