at work tomorrow.
charlie *hates* attention on himself, and would die of embarrassment if he were unprepared for said surprise, but he might actually beg off sick if he's told.
I would hate to be him and be blindsided, but man, I fucking love cake and I'm a little skinny this week so could in theory eat two or nine pieces. there will be no cake if charlie begs off sick.
I have a great relationship with charlie. I don't want to fuck that up by not warning him.
I tell, right?

tell and threaten death if he denies you cake. if the relationship is that good he wouldn't deny you cake. -- nm

The several times I got wind of a surprise party for me I foiled it and made it get cancelled. I agree with that guy. Call in sick dude!

I vote tell. Because even if the party is well intentioned, if it's going to make him stressed, it's not a nice thing to force on him. nm
