The games are never sold out anymore and the freebies are usually barely worth it.
I can live with not having some bad ass weapon to start the game or a flaming helmet. At least when I see the other players with them I'll know who to target first. :-)
If you buy the game you should get everything that anyone else buys the game gets. No one should get an advantage because they bought the game early.
