In response to "You know, if I drove someone else's car over a curb, ruining their tire, I'd offer to pay for the new tire. Apparently I am so unusual in my view" by Amanda

about a year ago the children of the friends of her family visited my neighbour. they borrowed her car, drove it 300 miles south, broke it, left it

there, and took the bus home. no offer to pay or even attempt to fix it. that ended it for me, at least for most people.

I'd have fixed it, or at least taken it to a garage.
