Do you want another Dress update?

i just spoke to Fedex to see if i could reroute it to my office. I can *request* it, but there *might* be a $10 charge that gets billed to the shipper and if the shipper says no.... i goes back to Miami. Now, if it goes back to Miami, she has to pay for that whole return trip, which is obviously more than $10. But, still, i was like 'no, if there is even a 1% chance of it going back, i'll pick it up.'
This turned into a long conversation, she clearly thought i was nuts because it *almost* never happens. I explained that this would be the time that happens.
Then she saw the note about what it is and set up some crazy, 'we only do this for very very very important packages' alert, that means before it can go ANYWHERE, a manager has to sign off on any and all movements, so that it can't go back to Miami accidently.
So, in *theory*, i SHOULD have it delivered to my office on Tuesday.
What odds would Vegas give me?

Was the seller ever contacted about the missing paperwork? I know you took care of it, but I wonder if she was contacted as well.

It would be horrible (glorious), totally horrible (oh come on, do we *really want this to end?) if the dress went back to Miami.

I'm really loving FedEx for this. You really need to send this to the Consumerist or someone after all is said and done -- nm
