I don't really have an issue with the fusion power source being there. That's silly, but it is movie logic silly so it's fine.
But Catwoman is only part of the plot because the super-smart Talia acted stupidly and forgot to get one of the essential parts of the plan.
Catwoman/Selina could have been part of the movie easily without undermining one of the defining characteristics of the villain
