Argument I heard on the radio...hockey fans: If you were starting a team who would be your first pick? Gretzky, Orr or someone else?

The radio host was arguing that Orr would be the best choice since he was an attacking defensman.
I'll admit I'm not a big hockey fan but I can't see how there's even an argument over this. Am I missing something? How is the argument not, after Gretzky who would you take?
Not counting the record number of goals he scored he still has more points than anyone else that has ever played the sport. It's not even a contest if you include goals scored.
Is there anyway you could justify taking Orr or someone else over Gretzky?
