Okay I trust ST to tell me the truth here......am I nuts for thinking the following....possible Benjamin Button spoilers....

I have not seen the movie, but I knew a but about it....I assumed that the movie was losely based upon a real story. Or at least a real life event where a person while they did not start old...had a disorder that reversed some of their aging process. And not to the point of becoming an infant but just a bit of reversal of aging. The story just was getting enough buzz to makje me think that somewhere there was a real story. A friend of mine totally mocked me for thinking all of this.
I did a quick Google search on reverse aging but come up with some of the more "out there" sort of stuff.
So was my perception mockable or was it a bit valid?
