Two changes to American Idol this season...

1. No "Idol Gives Back" this year. (Yay?)
2. There will be 36 semifinalists instead of the usual 24. Each week 12 will compete, with the top male and female making the finals, plus the next-highest vote-getter. Then in the Wild Card round the judges will choose the final three contestants.
