The Pro Bowl is a joke, but plenty "play the right way" and get recognition.

See Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, Marvin Harrison, Andre Johnson, Rod Woodson, etc...

I think Fletcher is the Rafael Palmeiro of football. His stats are great (his effort even better), but he's stuck behind some of the great linebackers of the last 25 years.

Plus, the Super Bowl team he was on was widely known for it's offense. It's a shame he doesn't get more credit, but I don't think it's some all encompassing 'players get knocked for doing it right' thing.
