From B2: Brooklyn was not built on top of a nuclear waste dump.

Has no one watched a PBS special? Brooklyn, like most of NYC was farm land that was slowly expanded as times and transportation improved.
It's the most populated borough of the five and I believe it's been that way for a long time. I don't know where someone would get the idea that people didn't want to live in Brooklyn for a long time. As soon as the bridge was built Brooklyn exploded and hasn't looked back.

There was a bad oil spill/leak in the Newtown Creek that runs between Brooklyn and Queens. It was more oil than the Exxon Valdez. I've posted picture of the oil sheen that covers the water to this day. The spill only affected a few blocks of Greenpoint which is the north western part of Brooklyn. It didn't affect 98% of Brooklyn.

I have never heard of any nuclear incidents in Brooklyn or of any spills.
