What? The intent was *not* to drive away the faithful players to open up space for brainless new "Schmoozers"? Then, as these new members like to say, epic fail!
Who the fuck came with that idea anyway?
At least have the honesty to change the name of the site! An uninformed person might think that, you know, HSX still is about a movie stock exchange. But it isn't, is it? It's about blogging, schmoozing, whatever?
It's not only about the terrible, terrible, TERRIBLY SUCKY, website design. The fucking ugly orange, the obnoxiousness of the ads and so on. Or the boards, which are hard to navigate (and either you keep the threaded look completely or you don't at all, if you ask me..) aand hard to know who is posting. There are some laudable ideas, and I would remiss if I didn't mention them: I like that I can see my port value wherever I am.
However, since the biggest problem of the whole thing is the bastardization of the game, that is right now irrelevant. H$ for posting? For blogging? For schmoozing, networking, profiling? For god-only-know-what else? Let me state this clearly: WHAT THE FUCK??? Sure, we always had some form of free money. It was limited. This, as far as I can see, is limitless. So, why even bother playing the game?
Which is a good thing, since the portfolios are terrible to navigate, terrible to gather information. The leaderboards are not working, the portfolios have no rankings in them. It would be easier, and way more honest, to just kill the game and be done with it. Call this clusterfuck Hollywood Schmozing Xerxes or something.
Oh, and one more thing. Yeah, sure, it clearly states there in the logo, this still is Beta. But the whole site is unstable as hell, I keep getting messages to install whatever, I was utterly unable to do anything last night with FireFox. In fact, it left my browser hanging so much I had to reboot just to do anything else. Let me tell you, it was time and money well spent, since the beta test, letting the site down for a week. And now to come back to this state.
So, I'll tell you what I already did. HSX had been, for years and years, my starting page. It's not anymore. The site, at this state, is something I don't intend coming back to. It would be too aggravating, because you really fucked up. I mean really. The language I'm using should hint you about that.
Oh, and I know at least one dude that will say that I don't like changes. Indeed I don't. But this is a big change for me. After over 10 years playing this game faithfully, and about 8 being a part of this community, I'm most likely calling it quits. Nothing, and I mean, nothing, had lasted for that long in my life. So, yeah, this is a big change for me. I'll probably be around "the other" board a bit, I expect.
PS: I feel sorry for D. Mac, I really do. But dude, you have some moronic bosses there.
