I'm never sure where I fall on the Manned/Unmanned air force.

I think the 5G fighters like the F-35 could be the last fighters but it all depends on how the next class of drones work out. If they can successfully get the fleet of them up and running on an aircraft carrier by 2020 like they want, all bets are off and the F-35 is likely to be the last manned, front line, mass produced fighter.
That being said I think we'll likely have a 6G manned fighter if for no other reason than autonomous drones make people nervous and the idea of a person in the cockpit is still strong in the air-force.
There won't be a manned 7G fighter however.
