Pregnant teen needs chemo.

There is a ban on abortion in the Dominican Republic.

So, doctors wouldn't start her on chemo because they didn't want to kill the baby and then get in trouble for basically giving her an abortion.

However, as I learned from initially Googling "pregnant chemo" to read about this story, chemotherapy doesn't seem to cause complications with the pregnancy.

To be fair, it does seem like it should, right? No 2nd glass of red wine, but chemo is okay???

But the doctors (ideally) know better. A damn shame.
