so why would you single out the socialized medicine part of the system

when without it, most of these women wouldn't receive any care at all, as opposed to mediocre care? It sounds like the DR's rural population gets a bit of the shaft thanks to poor funding and difficulty in travel, but that's not the fault of medicine being socialized - that's the fault of a system that isn't as accessible as it needs to be.
