Oh, I see conflict finances such as these as generally different from tax return releases.

Your first two examples were directly attached to public finances. The Paul Martin/Canadian Steamships connection also had some kind of conflict wrinkle to it if I remember correctly*.

But we never knew what Chretien made as a lawyer when he got rich on Bay Street during the Turner years. We never knew how much Stephen Harper donated to charity before running for PM. It's just a huge difference.


* - Or was it just political for Martin to transfer the company to his sons when Canadian Steamships reflagged in the Caribbian? I'm doubting my memory now.
