60 miles away. The major structures were not occupied by large populations, but appear ceremonial. Associated burials are 'high status' burials. The general population lived in nearby villages.
The astrological connection is debated but there is no doubt they studied and used the heavens to predict the seasons.
A number of the ruins we visited were 'line of sight' structures that could use signal fires for communication. The two entrances of the great kiva at Casa Rinconada line up perfectly with New Alto Pueblo. I hadn't ever heard of that but there's no doubt if you're there.
