I was bitten by a bee (drone) in entomology class when the prof got me to hold it in my fingers. it wasn't bad.

biting is with the mouth, stinging is with the stinger. Wasps can sting repeatedly, but bees can't because the stinger comes off.

I will have to look this up but I think drones have no stinger.
