He obviously thinks the players have high value. Other people seem to think they have at least some value. Why would he put himself in a hole like that?

He hasn't said, but, since he came to the league after the keeper deadline he sees that even though he's got the 3rd draft slot he's got the first

If people were only offering players, I could see him (dumbly) seeing it as them having to use picks to get his throw offs gives him better picks.
