You know what makes me feel old? Buying sneakers. (old man rant inside)

I just want to buy light comfortable walking shoes that I can wear to work. I don't need them to glow in the dark, give me "bounce", tone my ass, sparkle when I walk, or be easily spotted by rescue helicopters if I'm lost at sea.

I went to five different sneaker stores at the discount mall. They had plenty of shoes in colors not found in nature but hardly anything in black, gray or a neutral color (hint: maybe they sell better for a reason). The music was ridiculously loud so the poor retail person (who probably has a masters) and I were shouting at each other. Also, the music must have been on some kind of loop because even though this took about an hour, I only heard I'm Sexy and I Know It, We Are Young or that crappy song by One Direction.

I can't think of anything that makes me feel older than buying sneakers. Now get off my lawn!
