Glen is hiding behind it...Patrick is just enough "different" that everyone knows it's real.

Glen would go to a very formal event with a silly get-up. Patrick would put on a subtle outfit with just a few minor touches that would make him stand out without making it obvious.
With this I shall stop discussing the outward appearance of men and what it secretly means inside.
