I think Scrabs is only like two bucks (or maybe it was a deal at some point)

But you have to beware. The Amazon store is not the same as the Google store, so what you buy from Amazon won't transfer to another Android device. There are ways of getting some Google apps on to the KF, but it doesn't work for all and is definitely not reciprocal.
Our situation is different because I'll have to pry "our" iPad from my wife's cold, dead hands but the size difference is really stark when it comes to travelability. If they do drop a 7" iPad, you may want to look at that so you don't have to rebuy apps (but no lending).
