my brother's new (rescue) Golden Retriever Buddy is like that - very "needy" - and while it can be annoying I just feel sad for him mostly because

we'll never know what he went through before the rescue to make him like that ... he has chillaxed a LOT this past year - but you can just see it in his eyes at times ... it's like he's worried you're going to leave him or something. He's such a sweet dog - despite loving to chase and run away - he's 6 but going on 2 sometimes :)
