grounder in the eighth. He appeared to be injured after not getting the grounder. There's something wrong with his hip and he was almost scratched from the lineup tonight.
The complaints are usually warranted since he tends to be a bit lazy at times but yesterday was different.
The ball he didn't run out was a line drive right at the third baseman. It was at the third baseman before Cano even moved out of the box. The guy dropped the ball. Cano didn't run out of the box and then had to turn it on after he saw it was dropped.
98% of the time the guy catches that and the hitter doesn't get to take one step towards first. I don't blame Cano for that since it's rare that the guy drops it.
The ground ball would be different if he wasn't injured. If he's healthy then he should have dove and kept the ball in the infield and the runner from scoring. That was an important play but I think he's hurt and couldn't go for it.
