You can get some very, very nice apartments in NYC for that price. Those are just some of the most expensive neigborhoods. I'd be living like a king

if I had that much to spend on rent here and I'd never think about leaving again.
That is more than enough to find a sweet place and have money left over. You just won't be living in the hot, trendy or rich neighborhoods.
