Bale's known for being a very serious, devoted actor. For chrissakes - he was a skeleton in The Machinist! Terminator will have 100x more of an audience than that movie did and he nearly killed himself for it.

So the guy loses his concentration and cusses someone out (maybe he's having a shit day) and he's a worthless douche, but a director does something similar and he's just unleashing his artistic frustration?
