The other thing that was different from what I was expecting, is that the knocking out process is not gradual.

It's not like drifting off to sleep.
It's like
1. Fully awake.
2. 5 seconds of "Hey, that's cold."
3. 2 seconds of "I feel a little funny"
4. BAM! Completely out cold.
