i have some hope that the home warranty may cover something, but in reality i am looking at a bill between $8,000 to $16,000 to fix my house. i plan on calling about the warranty at lunch today to see what they say. though i have a feeling they are going to want to send their own contractor out (for which i will have to pay) to inspect the sewar line for themselves.
the problem is 3 "bellies" in the line, think of them like a sink drain trap, except they are straight sections 4 or 5 feet long.
its not something i can do myself, and it is going to require destroying my front yard, and ripping out a portion of the basement floor.
so i have 5 possible options:
1. the home warranty will cover the worst of the bellies, and maybe that will allow better flow through the entire system.
2. nothing is covered, but i pay someone to fix just the first one and hope for good results.
3. i pay someone every 6 months to come out and hydro clean the line (probably costing around $250 to $300 a time).
4. Sell the house (and maybe not disclose this issue?)
5. walk away.
needless to say, a little depressed right now.

Unless you rates are much larger than here, the work should not run you that much.

If you have the same warranty I do, they won't cover it.

The lawsuit with the plumbers that did not show should pay a small percentage of it, at least.
