Luck's a factor anyway. There is only so much a player can control.

ML is one of the best fantasy players here and I am no way disparaging him when I say this. There are things a manager cannot control.
My team had 516 yards from scrimmage. His had 475.
The reasons why I lost are threefold. His kicker outscored mine 7-2. His QB was significantly better than mind (25.85-14.65), but this was negated by the fact that my team was better (21-10).
If you add all of this together, he was ahead by a negligible 1.1 points after all the categories.
The difference in the game was much larger because his team had 4 TDs while mine had 1. That's the aspect of fantasy football that exists beyond planning and strategy. A team that stockpiles TDs in a single week can put up ungodly weekly totals yet they are unlikely to perform that well on the season because TDs usually come in bunches for players.
