what slows down photoshop isn't so much the cpu, its the in/out of the drives. for optimum PS, you want 2 of the fastest drives you can get, they don't have to be big. the C; is only for the programs, no storage, the D; is only your scratch disk, nothing is on it.

- it doesn't matter that much how long it takes to load a card full of images to the storage drives, load them into PS, that's when you get a cup of ... - zeitgeist Sep 13, 17:00
