I avoided flying Southwest after their 'charging fat people for two seats' rules became known. But....

I kinda understand it. *If* someone's body doesn't fit within the confines of one seat, I'm not sure I see how they are entitled to two seat for the same price as the one seat.
Horribly embarrassing experience that must be though. It's why I avoided Southwest completely and totally, even though I don't think I was large enough to trigger the rule, I was not taking any chances.

Their policy is actually quite fair, IMO. You are only charged for the 2nd seat if the flight is full. -- nm

yeah, someone has to cover the extra cost, and in these cases I don't think it should be the airline
