Kindle Fire HD speed review: B+

I would rate my original fire a B-. It had keyboarding issues, a rather anemic browser, and no expansion or connectivity of any kind

Fire HD: B+
- Much improved keyboard and browser. Space bar could be a bit longer.
- Haven't tried the HDMI out but the camera is nifty if a somewhat useless add-on. It is only forward facing and is mirrored for video chat. Kinda useless with side-loaded Instagram for taking pics
- I actually dislike the change to the carousel and prefer the older way. That just may be me getting used to it. The favorites being a button on the "taskbar" is more convenient but not as clean as being able to scroll down to see them from the main app screen
- Music/video/etc are just as great as before. The size is a little bit bigger than before but still a great consumption size and perfect for putting in my bag.
- Ads: Already snagged a free $5 credit for MP3 and bought Train's album. Can't argue with that. The "in operation" ads are inobtrusive. I actually have been more offended by the "suggestions" bar than any actual advertisements
