In response to "Once again: baseball rule question! Forced play at 2nd, defensive player falls, grabs the ball with his hand and tag 2nd base with his (empty) glove" by Guigue

From what I found so far, you guys would appear to be... wrong!

"A TAG is the action of a fielder in touching a base with his body while holding the ball securely and firmly in his hand or glove;"

and

"The PERSON of a player or an umpire is any part of his body, his clothing or his equipment."

You don't have to tag the base with the foot, it could be with your head if you wanted to.

But now I'm not 100% confident
