Here's how I see it in debate 2...
|
Debate 1 was on the economy. Obama may have only been able to hope for a draw (although that's pessimistic). He could have put it at the door of the GOP the whole time. But regardless. Romney has no other strategy for debate 2 than "steady as she goes". There's nothing he can change, because debate 1 worked for him and changing the message now is tinkering with something that works. Obama, on the other hand, has to tinker. He's watched the game film and knows how to respond. And format is more amenable to him. Whether any of this was planned or just a complete clusterfuck is beyond me, though.
