Re: Study Hall in high school

It's different in different schools. My last school had none. Every kid had a class every bell. Nightmare. You ended up with kids that only need a couple credits forced to take classes they have no interest in, nor do they need the grade or care about it, so they are essentially grenades in a classroom.

My current school is cool. They have what are called split study halls where I have essentially a different set of kids every day. A couple are with me M-F and like they said, they can get homework done, listen to music on headphones, surf the internet, etc.

Other kids are with me MWF or TR or MF, etc and the days they aren't with me they are in a writing lab, a math lab, a career counselor, etc. working on something specific with specific help. It's a cool system.
