I suppose if you boil down any news story to its basic theme, you can find the timelessness...

But "look at this weird thing that washed up on the beach" would be just as big a headline 50,000 years ago. One could cynically point to this as a lack of (figurative) evolution, but I choose to like it as an example of our everlasting curiosity and primal fascination with nature.
