the day before, i checked that the camera worked with the laptop that was supposed to trigger the cam every ten seconds.
the idea is that the guests can go there and get a pic or two or more doing whatever they want to do.
when i set up the camera on sat, i found out the cam has no x-sync connector to trigger the flashlights. switched to radio triggers (in the past, they were sometimes not so reliable, that's why i prefer cable).
so cam and flash works.
booting up laptop, it does not see the cam via usb. turns out the USB port died that moment. laptop out.
fallback scenario: use the cable to let people trigger the picture themselves.
cable has a bad connection somewhere, it worked only part time, then stopped working at all.
in the end we had one photographer just stand there and push the trigger.
we had a total of four DSLR cameras but almost everything else that was not redundant DID fail.
