Oh, oh! I got to tell someone off on the phone today! This never happens!

So, Melynda got roped into being the president of this new non-profit group. It was started up to try and get an old community hall which had fallen into disrepair operational again. Melynda's dad was involved in it because he thought it would be a good place to play music (he's a fiddler). Anyway, he thought that having Melynda involved would be good, since the majority of the people were older and she is of the 'younger generation'. Anyway, he talked her into being president, even though she said she really had no time to give, but could help out running the meetings etc. So, she made it pretty clear that she couldn't do much, everyone involved said it was no problem, just do what you can. So time goes by, and it turns out that one of the women involved is a horrible horrible bitch. She's retired and thinks everyone should have as much time to donate to this project as her. She's yelled at Melynda numerous times for not coming to work bees and such. Finally Melynda said she'd had enough and that she was quitting the board. She sent a letter to this horrible woman to make it official and we haven't heard from them in awhile. (side note: Melynda's dad was in a band with this horrible woman for awhile, and they kicked her out of the band, and he's left the board too. She's seriously unbearable). So, this morning the phone rings. I recognize the name on the phone as hers, and decide to answer. Horrible woman: Hello, is Melynda there? Me: No, she isn't HW: Can you ask her to call xxx.xxx.xxxx? Me: What is it regarding? HW: Melvin Hall Me: Why would she call anyone regarding that? She quit the board. HW: *snarkily* Well, I never got a letter Me: Well, she sent it, and she told you she quit. HW: *snarkily* Well, I never got it Me: I don't care, you've been horrible to her, and she quit HW: *bitchy now* Oh, was I? Me: Yes, you're horrible, and don't ever call here again. /hung up Ok, it seemed more impressive in the moment than it looks typed out there, but anyway....it felt good!
