LOST question (spoils)

why the hell did they continue to go to the beach once they "jumped" again? They didn't know what time they were in (well, John did once they saw the beam of light), but then they jumped, so there was no telling that the boat would be there. Or that the camp would be there.

Also, I didn't like how it ended this week. Very non-cliffhangery, but not very wrapped-up, either. Just...Bad Robot. Next Week...

meh.

Sidenote: Kate is looking stunning so far this season, I have to say.
