they were paddling in the boat around the island because their motor boat wasn't there?

ok, so they steal a boat that was there in whatever they jumped to, but when they jumped again the boat they were riding in should have disappeared. the motor boat jumps with them because of whatever they said about it being part of their group, the stolen boat should either be there all the time, or only in the time it belongs. therefore it should have disappeared leaving them to swim ashore. (which is what I was hoping would happen to them)
