I think Romney will lose, the important part is whether they write it off as him not being a "real" conservative and stay on their same course

they can't be stupid enough to spend 4 more years alienating the latino vote and pandering to nutjobs that would never vote for the other guy anyway... can they? Mitt gives them the easiest excuse to do exactly that.
