I get the feeling she's on the fence of maturing into a 'normal' person, but this is her first venture outside of her monied world.

It's foreign to her. She's not rejecting it outright, but she's scared because she doesn't know what to expect or it will work. She's looking for reassurance.
She's on the fence on the maturing thing right now though, it could go either way.
