Gather 'round, kids! It's story time. We're looking for a bigger house to rent...

...we're not brave enough to buy a house yet, but the current rental house is much too small (and no air condition). We think we've found the right house and we toured it yesterday around lunch time. The agency woman who showed us around hadn't been in the house before so it was new to her, as well. She told us that the furniture in the house was just for staging. We soon found out that this was not the case.

Touring the house, it had a clear "lived in" feel. There was food in the pantries and the fridge (although very little of it). While it was all pretty well picked up (no magazines on the floor or clothing on a chair, and the bed was made), I couldn't shake the feeling that someone was living there.

The microwave had evidently been used recently (very dirty). There was stuff in all the rooms, and soap and shampoo in the shower. There were utensils in the kitchen drawers and toiletries in the bathroom drawers. And in the bedroom, I looked in the dresser and found a jar with A HUMAN HEAD! Well, no, it was just a jar with some money in it. But if you have to run, you'd think you would take your jar with money, no? So what happened here?
