When I was in college after the 92 election, student campaign volunteers reported that's how Clinton pulled it off: huge logistics.

One student who actually worked for both party campaigns said the difference was night and day: Bush's was minimally staffed with little enthusiasm, Clinton's was heavily staffed, highly organized, and enthusiastic.
