my firm has a new client which wants to expand its business model into more states.
currently what it offers is music tutors via the web (in person, via something like skype). you pay for lessons online, arrange a time, and then skype it out.
the question they are asking us, is if they expand into more states, would they have to pay taxes to each state (sales and income) or because they are an online only business, and there is no physical presence, nothing shipped, would they just file their hq state return and be done with it.
