iyc: I spoke to and scheduled an appointment with the agency that we were referred to, that will test Nathan for any delays.

The woman made sure to verify his birthdate with me - "he's so YOUNG!"

This woman made me feel 95% better. They use a different scoring system than the doctors do. In their system, for example, a 9-month old babbling or talking back to us, no matter what it sounds like, is a good thing. Based on what she told me, he may very well pass communication.

I read her some of the questions on the form the doctor used; she checked her system and told me a lot of those are things that show up on her end as a skill a 12-month old may be doing. She also told me Nathan sounds like he's scoring off the charts on gross motor skills, and it's common for babies to focus so much on one set of skills that the others don't progress as much.

So, we'll still have the appointment with the agency, but based on what this woman said, I feel about 95% better that everything with N is as it should be.
